Ok ok..i did one bad things about this food display, i actually accidently squeeze the size too small and save it to the original filename and didn’t even make a backup. But at least it is noticeable and lookable except not as delicious as other photo that i included in previous foodtalk.

What’s in the Tofu? Or Yong Tau Foo?

Actually yong tau foo have a lots of choices not just Tou Foo, Yong Tou foo consist of Tofu, Big Red or green Chilli, and lots of Vegetables.

How to make one?

Simple. You need to pick a fresh fish, get their meat, clear out bones at least 90% of the fish is bone-free and put it in the tofu and boil it in a hot water. Not just boil dish, you can even had it fry.

Places and name of the Yong Tou Foo is almost everywhere in Malaysia. You can find it most popular in Ampang, as most of the Malaysian know about the Ampang Yong Tou Foo is the most famous one. At the Mines Wonderland, nearby shoplots, you will also find some good place to eat yong tou foo.

Will you just look at the Golden Chicken Rice, yummy. The smell is quiet good as its put some of the leaf plus some small dry-prawn. As this meal, i only be able to take photo when i go “Ta Boa” ( Ta Boa = Pack ). Will be able to get more photo on the meal available in this restaurant. This Golden Chicken Rice was so-called Golden chicken as it is a bit like golden color and it is cooked with chickens and the golden color is made up by some thai sauce. As for the recipe part, i will try get more information regarding on how to cook it at home.

The price for the food wasn’t so expensive, infact it is quiet reasonable. After you have try it once, i am sure that you will go for a second time. For Malaysian, don’t just try their Golden Chicken Rice, they have more choice of meal and its good. As for visitor from other country, when you reach Malaysia, make sure you stop by to have a meal or two.

Believe it or not, some did mentioned about onions can actually stop your running nose.

Why ”Onions”?

Onions are low in calories yet add abundant flavor to a wide variety of foods. With only 30 calories per serving, onions are sodium, fat, and cholesterol free, and provide dietary fiber, vitamin C, vitamin B6, potassium, and other key nutrients. In addition, onions contain the antioxidant quercetin, flavonoids and several other micronutrients which are proven to reduce blood clotting and raise healthy cholesterol (high-density-lipoproteins).

Onions are from the same family as garlic, leeks and shallots and provide a range of nutritional benefits.

Cure Running Nose? There is no evidence nor proofed that onions actually can cure running nose. You may want to try it out first before you believing it. As for me, i have been using this medi-onions to cure my running nose for almost 10 years plus. It works for me for all this year whenever i got running nose. It is not a super-medicine cure that can cure in 1 day, but it will take at least 1 ~ 2 days depends.

One of the Nutrition Facts : With 1/2 cup (80 g)

Another way of making this so-called cure-medicine for running nose is making this ingredient.

Ingredient (1 to 2 Person dish) :

2 big red onions

2 eggs

1/2 tablespoon of salt x 2

1/2 tablespoon of dark soy sauce

1 tablespoon of cooking oil

Preparing it

Cut the onions in slices then put it in a bowl. Mix it with the 1/2 tablespoon of salt.

Break the egg and put it in another bowl, stir it with 1/2 tablespoon of salt and 1/2 tablespoon of dark soy sauce. Stir until it become a bit dark yellowish color.

Heat up the wok or pan

Put in the cooking oil wait for at least 1mins

Put in the cut-out onions. Stir well in the wok or pan for 1~2mins.

Once you see the onions had turn a bit dark yellow, put in the stirred-egg

Cook it for 4~5mins till you see golden color lookalike of the mixture.

<bidvertiserplus />

Enjoy the dish. Although there is no evidence nor proof, well it is worth a try. If you are having a running nose now, try it out first. Then after few days, see whether it works for you or not.

As for “Bak Kut Teh” is what chinese people called, direct convert meaning of “Bak Kut Teh” is “Pork Rib Tea/Herb Soup”. Bak Kut Teh is one of the famous chinese food among the Chinese people but not just chinese people, even some foreign people also like to eat as well. It can be your dinner, your lunch or even your breakfast. In Malaysia, there is number of places that you can have Bak Kut Teh, as for me, i would recommend this place for first introduction of Bak Kut Teh, that is in Medan Imbi of Kuala Lumpur. Morning is the most crowded in this area, even sometime at night also are crowded. Where is Medan Imbi? Here’s the address, No. 35~39, Medan Imbi, Kuala Lumpur, that is one short address. Maybe this map could help abit.

While having the Bak Kut Teh, some would recommend serving with a dish of vegetables or Yau Cha Kuai or serve with vinegar soya sauce pig trotters. Yummy.

If you are not from Malaysia and would like to taste such a tasty food, you can make it at your own home. Here is one of the recipe that make Bak Kut Teh.

Ingredient :

1 lbs of pork spare ribs or some boneless pork meat (as some may not like to eat with bone. But with the bone together it will make the soup even more tastier.)

2~3 garlics, unpeeled, slightly crushed

2~3 inch ginseng root, peeled, crushed before putting to the soup

3 cinnamon sticks

5 star anise

1 tablespoon of white peppercorns

1 tablespoon of black peppercorns ( up to you to put 1 or 2 tablespoon, depends on your taste)

2 spoon of Sugar

1 1/2 tablespoon of dark soy sauce

5 dried mushroom

1 1/2 tablespoon of Salt and 1 tablespoon of Pepper.

*Put all the ingredient in together to cook.

The above ingredient is best serve in claypot and the Bak Kut Teh need to boiled for at least 30mins to 1hours to get the best taste.

Bak Kut Teh is consider as a healthy food but also it can be consider as a healthy food.
